Peace my lovely people,
I'm going to bless everyone with a Happy year (new and old). We all should strive to be angels searching for wings to soar to heaven. As a free spirited person, I have been tormented by an incident in Oakland on New Year's day. Oscar Grant, a young brother waiting for the BART at Fruitvale Station, was killed execution style laying face down on the platform floor. Shortly thereafter after, video recordings of this heinous act surfaced across national news.

I knew it would come back and rear its ugly head at some point and it happened yesterday. Last night rather. I was in the car and I just happened to be listening to the radio. DJ E- Feezy had invited DJ Marlei Mar down to the station just to kick it and talk about what's what. What was what yesterday happened to be Young Valinchi. DJ E Feezy went IN on Valinchi and must have talked about dude for like 45 minutes. He said he would make him famous. Never, in the two-hundred and thirty-two years since the second continental congress of 1776 declared independence from Great Britain, have I been so riveted by an event transpiring in my county. On November 04, 2008, Senator Barack Obama became the first American of African descent to be elected President of the United States of America. This auspicious moment, I believe, will usher in an epoch of unbridled possibilities. Now, this is not to suggest that the phantoms of racism and bigotry have been permanently eradicated from our “teeming shores”, but it does mark a turning point, for the better, in our nation.

I couldn't have said it better. It is like Colin Powell was reading my mind. We do not need more conservative judges on the Supreme Court. The Republican Party has become freedom's terrorists or social evolution terrorists. What are they conserving anyway?
